Lowell Observatory conducts research on astronomical phenomena, with a focus on our solar system and its evolution. Trivium has developed 17 exhibits and interactive multimedia experiences for the observatory’s visitor center, all designed to support its mission of public education and outreach.
Visitors can explore a 3D game to trace the journey of their atoms through time, or select tools to launch their own mission to Saturn’s moon, Titan, gathering data and samples in the search for potential signs of life. They’ll compare images captured across different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum, and make their own estimates on the likelihood of other communicating civilizations, using an equation scientists have relied on since the 1960s. Whether visitors touch a screen, turn a dial, or roll a ball, they’ll enjoy an immersive learning experience that brings our vast universe closer and makes it more accessible than ever.
