The Sightlines Atlas website was built as a complimentary experience to the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center’s latest exhibit, “Sightlines: Chinatown and Beyond.” It highlights the stories of a multitude of Asian Americans from the past and the present who played a role in shaping Washington, D.C. These individuals have all made contributions to the cultural and built environment of our nation’s capital, and visitors to the site are able to absorb these stories in a variety of formats, including videos & transcripts, articles, and photo essays. Additionally, this website has been built with the intention that it can live on once the exhibit has closed, act as a resource for D.C. residents, and be expanded upon as more stories are collected. It was an honor to work with the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and TSKP x ikd to bring this website to life.
